However, even though I specify that I'm searching for a version of the program that will run on Vista, after the download and file extraction, the install fails because it requires Windows 7 to operate. It doesn't have anywhere near the power of Blender, but it's a lot easier for a newbie to use. Autodesk software like AutoCAD, Inventor, Maya, and Fusion are all far superior professionals usually have access through employers since the licences are expensive and students can get free educational licences. And caveat emptor applies if you do this.
